Parents must be vigilant lest their children in their youthful enthusiasm and inexperience put themselves in physical and moral danger. Good children seek their parents’ guidance and follow their advice.When we pray the Lord’s prayer we ask our heavenly Father that we might not be led into temptation through our carelessness and succumb to the false attraction of evil by our moral weakness and unruly passions. For if evil infects us and is not eradicated, like a cancer it causes our moral and spiritual death.
We know our heavenly Father knows our human weakness and that if we seek his help he will never allow us to be tempted beyond our capacity to resist, so we pray with earnestness and confidence that we might not be led into temptation and that we be delivered by his grace and fatherly care from the power of evil. How comforting to know the power of God Our Father supports us in our struggle.
