… A Minute Meditation
July 31, 2009
“Behold, I stand at the gate and knock,” Christ said. Right now Christ stands at the door of our hearts knocking and waiting for us to let Him in. He comes to us now in word and sacrament. He comes to us in private prayer and in the Church’s liturgy. He comes as our friend - to tell us all He has heard from the Father, as our companion - to walk with us and open our minds to His message and our hearts to His love. He comes in the darkness – to light our way and console us in our loneliness and fear. He comes as healer- to free us from blindness, selfishness and sin. He comes as our redeemer - to set us free. He comes that we may have life and have it in abundance.Christ always comes in power – He is the Son of God. But He can empower us only if we let Him in.
