Family Prayer
July 28, 2010, 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Avoid greed in all its forms.” (Luke 12:15)
READINGS:1. Ecclesiastes 1:2, 2:21-23
2. Colossians 3:1-5, 9-11
3. Gospel of Luke 12:13-21
REFLECTION: What do Jesus and the Gospel have to say about money? In the Gospel the man asks Jesus to tell his brother to give him his share of the money. In reply, Jesus tells a story about a man who stored up his riches in bigger and bigger barns. Then he died and his wealth piled up; he worked to grow rich for himself, and his wealth did not guarantee him life.
PRAYER: Lord, we thank you for what you have given us in this life, and we trust that you will always care for us. Make us rich in compassion, in trust, hope and love. Amen.
