“My entire attention is on the finish line as I run toward the prize to which God calls me…”(Philippians 3:14)

READINGS:
1. Isaiah 43:16-21
2. Philippians 3:8-14
3. Gospel of John 8:1-11

REFLECTION:  The readings today are all messages of hope.  God prepares good things for us in the future, says Isaiah and Paul, so there is no use worrying about what lies ahead.  Rather we should be excited about what lies ahead of us.  And Jesus Himself says that the opportunity for reformation is in our grasp every ticking moment.

PRAYER:  Holy Spirit of the Lord, you are one with us, as close to us as the air we breathe.  May we take you into our hearts and minds and may your life fill our whole being.  Amen.

FAMILY DISCUSSION/ACTIVITY:

Monday:
Think of times when you were challenged to be different.  Could you have been led along by the crowd, perhaps doing something you didn’t want to do?

Tuesday:
Spend time today reflecting on the prize(s) you or your family members spend the most time and energy running after.

Wednesday:
Pray today for those who will be baptized this year at the Easter Vigil.  Pray for those in your parish and those all over the world.  Especially pray for those who are in physical danger as they choose to be baptized in Jesus’ name.

Thursday:
Pray the new Mysteries of Light tonight with your family.  Light some candles and pray for world peace.

Friday:
Have a fasting meal tonight and contribute any money saved to the food pantry.

Saturday:
Set a walking or running goal today and walk with a friend to achieve the set goal.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help us to run after prizes that are truly worthwhile.  May we strive to be more generous, more kind, more just, more loving.  May we seek the rewards of peace and joy and contentment, and may we praise you all our lives with thankful hearts.  Amen.
